Acupuncture WITHOUT needles, count us in!

OM Healing Arts Center is Hosting "The Art Of Living" Workshop by Dr. David Bole this Thursday through Monday. Included in this workshop, Non-Insertive Toyohari Acupuncture appointments.

Art is more than just creating, it’s also a form of HEALING. Whether drawing, painting, building, or massage – Art can heal the mind, body, and spirit – Doing wonders for our entire being!

Toyohari is a specialized Japanese form of East Asian medicine. As a refined system of traditional Five Element meridian therapy, it is effective and painless. In this tradition emphasis is placed on the meridians, the five elements, and yin/yang theory. In addition, using the four basic diagnostic methods, to see, to hear, to ask, and to feel, the acupuncturist gathers vital information to arrive at the correct diagnosis. These methods include observing the color and luster of the skin, assessing the patient's predominate emotion, listening to the sound of the voice, asking about the patient's history and preferences and, most importantly, feeling the abdomen and the quality of the pulses palpated on both wrists. All this information is put together to create the specific diagnosis for that individual. It is this process of information gathering that is used to establish the diagnosis that will lead to an effective treatment plan for that particular pattern of disharmony. The Toyohari practitioner strives to identify the specific constitutional factor, or root problem, responsible for the imbalance leading to the patient's symptoms. Symptoms are seen as a distress signal of the body. For example, pain can be such a distress signal. If we merely get rid of the pain by masking the symptoms we ignore the underlying cause of the problem. In this ancient and profound system of medicine, restoring harmony and balance is the goal of treatment. When this is achieved the symptoms subside and the patient feels renewed energy and vitality at all levels of body, mind and spirit.

Love Art? Art Auction This Week!

Support a great cause AND bid on local artwork!

The Ace Mentor Program is hosting its Invitation To Bid Art Show Fundraiser, which gives guests the opportunity to silently bid on artwork that celebrates the vibrant community of Omaha. The evening also features networking with the architecture, engineering, and construction community, as well as music, food, and drinks!

The Ace Mentor Program of Greater Omaha works with local high school students interested in the building design and construction industry, such as: architecture, construction, engineering, and related fields. Your support offers students a chance to discover and develop new skills, and form positive relationships with mentors who can provide references for future work in these industries.

Here’s a sneak peak of one of the art pieces that will be in the BID:

This piece is by our president (The Omaha Arts Council) Alvin Harper, who also has donated several other pieces of work to support the cause. Design and construction are forms of art, and contribute to the economic development in the community. Buildings bring uniqueness to our area, and should also be celebrated as part of our community.
We hope to see you Thursday, March 8th, between 4:30 and 7:00pm!
Have a GREAT evening!

What Is The Ace Mentor Program?

This program was designed to introduce young people to architecture, construction, engineering, and related areas of the building design and construction industry. They host weekly meetings where students can learn from mentors while designing hypothetical projects, take local tours of construction sites, and visit the different industry offices. It allows students to discover and develop new skills, as well as gain references to help obtain college admissions, scholarships, internships, and even employment.

Happy Holidays 2017

Thank you for you support!

Without you, the Omaha Arts Council would not be. We look forward to the new year, and for the continued opportunity to serve our creative community.

The arts enrich people's lives in so many ways, and they also enrich our community.

The Omaha Arts Council is more than just economic development: it's about helping PEOPLE and the community, it's about being able to come together no matter who you are, where you're from, or what you do. It's where creativity, and those that appreciate creativity, can unite.

All of our uniqueness can also be our common ground, where we can connect, grow, and flourish TOGETHER.

From the Omaha Arts Council,

Have a Happy Holiday Season!
