Love Art? Art Auction This Week!
Support a great cause AND bid on local artwork!
The Ace Mentor Program is hosting its Invitation To Bid Art
Show Fundraiser, which gives guests the opportunity to silently bid on artwork
that celebrates the vibrant community of Omaha. The evening also features
networking with the architecture, engineering, and construction community, as
well as music, food, and drinks!
The Ace Mentor Program of Greater Omaha works with local
high school students interested in the building design and construction industry,
such as: architecture, construction, engineering, and related fields. Your
support offers students a chance to discover and develop new skills, and form
positive relationships with mentors who can provide references for future work
in these industries.
Here’s a sneak peak of one of the art pieces that will be in
the BID:
This piece is by our president (The Omaha Arts Council)
Alvin Harper, who also has donated several other pieces of work to support the
cause. Design and construction are forms of art, and contribute to the economic
development in the community. Buildings bring uniqueness to our area, and
should also be celebrated as part of our community.
We hope to see you Thursday, March 8th, between
4:30 and 7:00pm!
Have a GREAT evening!

What Is The Ace Mentor Program?

This program was designed to introduce young
people to architecture, construction, engineering, and related areas of the
building design and construction industry. They host weekly meetings where
students can learn from mentors while designing hypothetical projects, take
local tours of construction sites, and visit the different industry offices. It
allows students to discover and develop new skills, as well as gain references
to help obtain college admissions, scholarships, internships, and even
employment.
